The 20 posters at a glance

To hang a poster without drilling, start by telling apart a lightweight unframed print from a framed piece. The right method depends on the total weight, the wall covering and the instructions for the fastener. No adhesive solution can be advertised as universal or guaranteed to leave no marks on every wall.
Poster alone or framed: 2 different situations
An unframed print and a frame with glass don’t call for the same fastener. Weigh the whole piece you want to hang, then check the weight limit and the compatible surfaces listed for the exact product you choose. Don’t assume the capacity of one product applies to another.
Decorative tapes and adhesive putty can mark the paper or the wall covering. They are not a hanging solution for a frame. To protect a poster, avoid sticking any adhesive directly on its printed side.
Before using an adhesive fastener
Identify the surface: smooth paint, wallpaper, plaster, tile or wood. Then check the manufacturer’s instructions, the required preparation and the waiting times. Fresh paint or a crumbly surface calls for extra care; a test in a discreet spot doesn’t guarantee there will be no damage on removal.
For example, the Command instructions for picture hanging strips exclude wallpaper and hanging over a bed. Conditions vary by product: use the instructions on your own packaging, and don’t apply a maximum load found for a different model.
See the official Command picture hanging instructions and compare them with the product you bought.
During installation and removal
Follow the prescribed quantity, the placement of the fasteners and the setting times. Removal is part of the method: don’t pull at random on the frame or the tab. If the surface or the fastener doesn’t match the instructions, choose another way to hang it.
When the wall isn’t suitable
You can consider a framed poster on a stable surface, safe from falls or knocks. An already installed rail can let you move frames without making new holes; installing the rail itself may require fasteners. So not every rail should be presented as a no-drill solution.
Check the dimensions of the print and the frame
Choose the spot and size for your poster
Keep the manufacturer’s instructions for installation and removal. The exact fastener and the type of surface determine which precautions to follow.

Frequently asked questions
You often ask us
Can a mark-free hanging be guaranteed?
No, not for every wall and every paint. Surface compatibility, installation and removal must be checked against the fastener’s instructions.
Can I hang a frame with washi tape?
Don’t treat a decorative tape as a fastener for a frame. Check the total weight and use a system explicitly designed for that use and that surface.
How do I choose the right weight limit?
Weigh the frame with its glass and contents, then follow the instructions for the exact product. Don’t work out a capacity by arbitrarily adding up pieces of tape.
Is a rail always drill-free?
No. An existing rail can avoid new holes when moving frames around; installing it in the first place may require fasteners.
